The best times to visit are March and April, when the weather is still warm with less rain and fewer crowds. December is also a good, choice—warm and less crowded compared to the peak summer months. January and February are very hot and great for beach activities, but they are also the most crowded months. May is still a good time to visit, though temperatures can start to drop. From June to August, it can be too cold for beach enjoyment. If you don't mind the cold, these months offer the chances to see whales. September to November can be unpredictable, with potential for cooler and cloudier weather.

How to Get There

Florianópolis is best reached by flying into its own airport, which is the most convenient option. If you come from Foz do Iguaçu, you can also drive or take a bus from there, but it's a long trip! If you take this path we recommend staying one night in Curitiba.

We recommend staying 4 to 7 days. With numerous attractions to explore, at least 4 days will allow you to see the main highlights. A 7-day stay is ideal for thoroughly enjoying the island and unwinding, though you could easily extend your visit to two or three weeks if you want to fully immerse yourself in the local vibe.

In our opinion Lagoa da Conceição is the ideal place to stay as a tourist. Its central location makes it convenient to access all parts of the island. The nearby lake is perfect for leisurely walks, and you're just a short distance from the dunes and several stunning beaches. The area also offers options for nightlife and a variety of excellent dining options. For families, Jurerê Internacional in the north is a great choice, offering many family-friendly beaches. However, be aware that it also has a lively nightlife scene during high season. Another excellent option is Campeche in the south, known for its beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and various activities.

Getting Around
RentCars

If you spent longer time here and want to explore all the island has to offer we definitly recommend renting a car, since some destinations on the island can be quite far from each other for taking public transportation or uber. It also allows to explore destinations close to the island like Praia da Rosa or Balneário Camboriú. If you're only staying a few days and won't visit all attractions, you can also get along by using Uber or 99.
